Hi, I’m Dave from boyinaband.com and welcome to this short interview series on the people behind the awesome sample website Primeloops.com.

More specifically, These guys – Ben and Rene, the managing director and product manager for Primeloops – so they know their stuff when it comes to music.

When I started boyinaband, Primeloops was the first company I ever contacted with a business proposition – after scouting out a bunch of sample sites, I thought theirs was the best so sent them an e-mail. They replied, and we’ve worked together ever since. I headed down to the Primeloops office HQ in London to finally meet them in real life and interview them.

I thought you guys would find it useful to hear from some people who are knee-deep in the music industry, both for the technical aspect, since they obviously wouldn’t be as successful as they are without being awesome at knowing what makes for quality samples, but also for the practical aspect – if you want to make a living through music, they’ve got valuable advice for people looking to work in the music industry.

So we’ve got two 2-part interviews for you, the first of which is with Mastermind Ben, who shares some sweet insights into the music industry, explains how Primeloops got to where it is today and gives advice for any budding musicians and entrepreneurs out there.

Secondly we’ve got Rene’s insights into production techniques, where he sees popular music going and some useful tips on what he looks for when hiring producers.
