This guy seems to have alot of hate. My thoughts are that he is upset about some electronic music being more popular then him. Anyways I thought it was kind of funny and felt like shareing it with someone and this place seems the most relevent so here it is.

I love Henry but when it comes to music, he's an opinionated dickhead. How can someone who pioneered hardcore punk, a genre of music based around playing instruments as loud, fast, and sloppy as possible with yelling overtop, knock any other music genre for being talentless. I can write a hardcore song in 10 minutes. He speaks so highly of musical creativity and then knocks all DJs...we don't all work weddings and birthday parties Mr. Rollins.

You know what's funny? I actually had to wikipedia him, I wasn't sure if he was a stand up comedian or not.
Seriously, at the end no one was laughing and everyone got really awkward, did anyone notice?

Well, there's an obvious attempt at a joke, with the reoccuring elements and whatnot. It is however not funny, because it's sloppily executed, he lacks the charisma of a good comedian (I see how he could come off well in hardcore because of how angry he seems but at this age, he just comes off as a frustrated middle-aged dude and that's just sad, not funny) not to mention that he just bases his joke on ignorance.

To me, it's not so much that I'm offended (I couldn't care less what this man who just left a pitiful expression on me thinks about music I like), more that I didn't find it funny and just unpleasant to watch.

Hence, my reference to Dane Cook, who I find ever harder to watch, just look:



It's also something I've seen sprouting a lot in stand up comedy lately, which is the ranting comedian. It seems like it's less about laughing at jokes or punchlines and more about knowing that feel bro when the guy on stage goes over things he hates, more with a "YEAH, I HATE THAT SHIT TOO AND IT'S CATHARTIC TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE ELSE HATES IT EVEN MORE" than a "LOL I CAN RELATE TO THIS SITUATION AND IT'S CATHARTIC THAT HE PUT A COMEDIC SPIN TO IT".

There are people who can pull this off much better, sure, though personally I'm not into this style.

I like Bill Hicks myself, it's a shame he's dead, modern day comedy just isn't that funny.
