Hey guys, still got some mixing to do on this but I think I have finished the writing on this track and I'm quite proud of it as a whole.
Edit: here is the "final" version. But theres always a chance I'll come back and amend things.

It's very deadmau5 inspired, I think that really shows in some of the mixing style

Interesting, I like the samples you use, and the sounds are good. The chords gave me pause for a second from what I can tell it goes f# maj-d-maj-bminor-amaj-f#-maj?

Because a modulation occurs at dmajor (it changes into a diferent key) it would sound better to play an e maj. chord before going back to f# maj, so instead of a maj play an E major chord. F# Maj-Dmajor-bminor-Emaj- F#maj.

It's not bad.

Pros: Get melody and song structure. Could dance to it. Good variation.

Cons: Clap and kick are weak. Main synths are very dry. Some transitions, like around 3:07 kind cut off the groove. Needs more ambiance.

All in all it's nice, but you need to bring the kick up some more and really make it thumb. Could remove a bit of mid from the clap as well. And try adding some flavor to your synths, they seem very dry to me. Maybe a tad of reverb and some high end.

Oh sorry for the confusion, I actually love the modulation I just was thinking that the E maj chord would be a good addition, adding even more tension. But then again this advise is stylistic not technical.

No worries, I am easily confused by this stuff. The chords are F# Major to D major to B major to A Major to G major to F # major. It's a little confusing to follow in the track as the notes from each chord cross in and out, as well as the bass line adapting to when a significant chord change happens and following it with one of the notes that changes in the chord pattern (standard warm easy listening writing technique for me )

As for the dry synths and groove, I definitely agree theres room for reverb and I might look into some sort of beat keeper in those breaks, but I feel like theres enough so that its not 5 and a half minutes of constant thumping.

nice work! i really like the chord progression, very unique, its refreshing to hear something like that.

i think you could cut around 400Hz on the kick, get rid of that cardboard sound.

dont be afraid to use some reverb! you can get great separation of parts with it. right now this mix seems very flat, 2 dimensional. adding reverb to the individual synths can give the mix a sense of space and depth. dont be afraid to go overboard on the reverb at first, you can always dial it back if it gets to be too much.
