Global Collab

Postby alexc » Sun Apr 17, 2011 4:19 pm

Ok thevoice came up with the idea of a global collaboration where everyone, that wants to, can take part and I've said I'll organize it.
I'm not going to release any details of how this will be done yet but just to get an idea of numbers:
If you think you'd be up for taking part in a global collab post here and let me know.
Edit: This will be done on reason so if you don't have reason and won't have it in a few weeks time then don't bother saying you'll take part cause unfortunately you can't.
Edit 2: Ok a little change has been made already. The file won't be passed onto the next person, it will be passed to me and then I'll pass to the next person. I'll explain why when we decide to do it but anyone not ok with doing this for whatever reason don't say that you'll take part. :D

Yeah I'm up for this! :D
I have the same guitar as Dave does in his introduction video. It's because we're cool.

A random order of people will be picked then each person has a time limit to do whatever they want to the track then it is passed to the next person. I guess the first person will decide the tempo and therefore genre really.

That is unless anyone further along decides to change the tempo and therefore genre but we're guna have to make sure noone just scraps everything that is there and starts something new.

I think it would be an awful idea to pass it onto the next person, what if it gets screwed up?

Howabout we all get given a particular role in the collaboration?

Depends to what extent you mean by screwed up?
I think this is partly what will make it interesting. I can't see anyone mindlessly deleting good parts and if someone adds something that the next person thinks sounds off, they can fix it.
Maybe we could say that each time it is passed on it is also sent to me so I can make sure that nothing is majorly screwed up. Then if I find something is we can just go back to an earlier version.

This was the original idea but I thought it would become to complicated where mixing and arrangement is concerned.
