Digital Mystikz, Mala, Coki

Postby Rmonik » Fri Apr 29, 2011 10:15 pm

Alright i'm in love. I've been in love for over a few years now (since i went to see Mala)... Holy crap this dudes are * awesome. In their solo work AND in their together work. I mean.

I've been looking for artists in the same genre that can match them but haven't found 'em yet. Everyone keeps telling me about stuff but i haven't found an equivalent for them. What is it in their music that makes it soooo good (ESPECIALLY IN CLUBS  )? I'm really wondering this.

If you got some nice songs, feel free to post. :-)

Czech out Shackleton, Appelblim (or appleblim I cant remember), the Others, Milanese, Loefah (who's kind of like the 3rd Digital Mystik) and tbh a lot of Rusko's stuff, especially his early stuff, is a lot like dMz, although some people don't like Rusko for whatever reason :/ (they jelly)

the others are real different in my opinion. The other ones i don't know, except for loefah ofcourse, done so much collabs with DMZ. Can you link me a rusko song like that?

You haven't found them because they don't exist. That's Digital Mystiks are so big.

The closest I can think of would be stuff coming out on Deep Medi Musik (Malas label)

Cotti is getting close-ish

But if your wanting tunes that are heavy like Marduk then there's not much that gets close to Coki's famous bass-lines.
First things that pop into ma head are these:

I've always liked Mala better than Coki.. Coki's basslines are just too weird for me, lol. Mala and Loefah bring that roots reggae sound that I love in dubstep like no other.

You can really see the dMz influence in this tune, especially when the flute comes in:

This one's hella deep, I love it. I wish he made more stuff like this..

l-wiz deservesw to be on the list too:

I've wanted this since I first heard it on Dubstep Allstars Vol.5 but unfortunately I think it's only out on vinyl :( . Such a tune!
