Recording Automation in Reaper

Tell us how you got that killer synth effect, why you love your sequencer of choice or that you are sick of hearing the same lame preset every time you load up malstrom ¬_¬

Recording Automation in Reaper

So I'm pretty close to switching over to Reaper after months of having Live crash every 5 seconds. One thing that's been bothering me though is recording automation. Is it possible to record automation, say pitch bend, without recording over the notes? Live automatically did this, so I'm having a tough time figuring out why Reaper would do it any differently.

I'm not quite sure what the question is asking, but I'm pretty sure what you want is to right click on the VU meter and select "MIDI Overdub"

You can record automation in Reaper without effecting already recorded notes.
