He never called the music immature, he just stated a more or less fact - modern dubstep IS popular among a younger audience. And just because I'm no fan of this popularity, doesn't mean I hate the music. I listen to loads of stuff that would be labeled under brostep, it's just the large amount of immaturity and naivity among the fans that annoys me. I really see no point in ignoring or hating the roots in your genre of choice. And that said, I really hate the elitism that comes out of people of the likes from DSF, eventhough I can somehow relate to their feelings. But they're exactly the same as the brostep fanbois, just on the other side of the spectrum, like Rmo said.

Like I said, I'm no elitist. I just like listening to the music. I certainly don't associate myself with the fanboys. I'm definitely not opposed to deep dubstep, just personally find a lot of it to be a bit boring.

I think this thread has gotten a little derailed, don't you? :)

a part of nowadays edm scene is based on fanboys and cie. they make it big and successful. to me is kind of strange to have only kids in the audience. but they are probably the best type of fans that there are.

it's like a certain metal band. they have big ambitions. they wanna be the best and biggest metal band in the world.. but their audience is mainly teen emo girls. not exactly the standard metal fan profile!!!
but they tour and stuff.. and they make a living out of it. they live in a softer cute metal parallel dimension.

America's punk and metal festival Warped Tour is the perfect example of this phenomenon. :| A ton of ambitious metal bands touring for three months to outdoor venues in every state for a festival lasting all day long, and playing to a crowd of emo punk teens. I'm sure some bands love it, but I have the slight feeling quite a few don't as well.

Dude! Rusko rocks. This is the perfect fusion of original dubstep with brostep.

My big favorites: Skream, Benga, Distance, Bar9, Zomboy, Arkasia.
Also I like Skrillex and other brostep too, but I don't write them here cuz they're not real dubstep.
