This is my first attempt at something on Reason. I would like to go further, but I've hit a massive roadblock as to "Where to next?" And now I'm in a rut.
generally, i just listen to the song on loop and try to imagine what comes immediately next. sounds like you can easily do some more layering/expansion on that higher lead synth.
Hello guys, this is my very first attempt at producing music. Of course this is not even near to finished and needs much more variation I tried to do some liquid drum & bass here. The idea was to start off with this cracklin/jammed/retro type of sound which then goes over into some spacey atmospheric piano thingy followed by something more energic. I only spent maybe 2 hours on it, i never done something like this before and i hope anyone out there can give me some tips for improvement... sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native speaker http://soundcloud.com/vincednb/liquid-dnb-wip
@Vince, I like it, there are some parts where the timing sounds off a bit though. But it's great for a first attempt. I'm in the same boat as you (new producer) so hopefully someone will be able to further critique your first piece. It does have an awesome emotional feel to it though, in my opinion, which is awesome.
Here is my second song I've made, and first song made in Ableton. It's based off the windmill song from Zelda. As the title says, its around 50% done in my opinion... There are some timing and peaking issues I've noticed.
thanks for your comment, good luck in your future production on oyur track.. man i LOVE Zelda and it's songs... your attempt is great although i dont really like this 'dirty' type of music
