Chatroom [Just an idea!]

Hey BIABers,
I really think we should have a chatroom and since Dave is making huge changes there is an opportunity to include it,
So I did some reschearch and I found this free chatroom options:

I think the chatroom should use the same registered names as on the forum and maybe also the same mods

Just tried the 123 flash chat plugin and it installed, said there was a header missing and now I can't find it to uninstall/attempt reinstall ><

I also gave the everywherechat plugin a try, but it's a bit big for the page! : http://www.boyinaband.com/community/chat/

So I haven't publicised it yet.

Once we've decided on the format for the update, I'll be happy to add on a chat plugin, I just don't want to spend time implementing one now if we only end up changing the CMS a few days down the line!

Hey for the everywhere chat problem I found a temporary solution:
somewhere in the code of it it says ... &width=600& ... change the 600 to 500 and it fit's the page perfectly!

I think the chatroom idea would make the "Dave Days' more easy!

Do you think a shoutbox on the sidebar of the site would just be abused? Or is a conventional chat room the way to go?

Depends - it definitely would if it's completely open to the public. Just for members would work, it would at least filter out them spambots and to-lazy-to-sign-up. And I would personally enjoy a chatroom a lot, since I sit here logged in most of the time
