I will personally make you a video tutorial teaching you how to make what you want.
There are two different types of custom video tutorial…
Private Video
This is when you get the video sent only to you. You can do pretty much what you want with it, so long as you don’t edit it without my prior agreement!
Pros:
- Can be a tutorial for any synth or song.
Cons:
– A bit more expensive
Sponsored Video
Sponsored videos go on the boyinaband youtube channel and boyinaband retains all the rights to the video, but these are £50 cheaper than a regular tutorial. You’ll get a shout out in the video if you want as well – this can be pretty good promotion! : )
Not any old tutorial can be a sponsored video though – it has to have a wide enough appeal. (more info below)
Pros:
– £50 Cheaper
- Promotional Shout Out
- Share the tutorial with the world!
Cons:
– Boyinaband retains all rights to the video
- Not everything is eligible (read below for more info on what is eligible)
- Can’t remake full songs (But can make tutorials in the style of other songs!)
If you’re interested in how to make a specific synth, then if it’s a synth that is stereotypically used in a specific genre that I haven’t already made a 7 day song for, I can use it in a 7 day song tutorial, since it has a wide enough appeal to be appreciated by the boyinaband audience. However, if your synth is too specific and doesn’t lend itself to a particular genre of music, it’ll be too much of an acquired taste and so less people will find it useful, so it doesn’t have the £50 reduction. To find out whether the synth you want qualifies, send me an e-mail and I’ll tell you in the quote!
Specific song / style of music:
If you’re interested in how to make a whole song, then you have two choices. Either I can make the whole song for you as a private video series, or you can ask me to make a new track in the style of the song, using the same kind of synths and sounds (so long as the song is a popular enough genre that I haven’t already covered) and I can use that for a 7 day song, reducing the cost to you by £50 per video. To find out whether the song you want qualifies, send me an e-mail and I’ll tell you in the quote!
Pricing:
The price will depend on a few things.
- Complexity
It will depend on the complexity of what you want me to make – contact me for a quote! To give a rough idea, It’ll usually be over £70 for a video. (If you’re finding this a bit much, you can do what some customers have done in the past and get a few friends together and share the cost between you.) - Private video or Sponsored video
A private video will be sent only to you. A sponsored video is a tutorial that will go on the boyinaband youtube channel, but is cheaper. Not any old tutorial can be a sponsored video though – it has to have a wide enough appeal. If what you want has a wide enough appeal to be a sponsored video, then the price will come down by £50.
- Amount of Videos
When you order multiple videos in one go I’ll generally do you a deal to reduce the cost to you : )
Payment:
I accept payment via paypal or bank transfer. I’ll give you the details in the email with your quote!
Distribution details:
If you’ve ordered a private video tutorial, I’ll upload the video and send you a download link for it.
If you’ve gone for the option to incorporate your tutorial into a 7 day song, then it’ll be uploaded to the boyinaband youtube page.
Ownership:
If it’s a private video tutorial, you will own the video and can do pretty much what you like with it, so long as you don’t edit it without prior permission.
If it’s a sponsored video tutorial then boyinaband will retain all rights to the video. You’ll get a shout out in the video if you want though – this can be pretty good promotion! : )

All payment is final and non-refundable.
All tutorials will be made using Propellerheads Reason 4.0 unless otherwise stated.
