Hey guys!

I’ve been working really hard on it and it’s finally here – the YAWA EP, “Soundtrack to the Apocalypse”.   This is actually the first CD I’ve ever been a part of releasing so it’s exciting stuff for me!

I recorded, mixed, mastered, designed the artwork and ordered the CD myself – it’s been a hell of a learning experience and I’ll be sure to blog about it from the recording techniques to choosing a CD duplication company over the next few days!

I’ve made the second “making the beat” episode, explaining how to make the beat for “I’m on a Boat” by The Lonely Island. Also has a link to my band “You and What Army”‘s Rave/Rap/Rock cover of said song :D Bonus!

Check them both out here!

My band You and What Army has been through a lot lately, so I thought I’d bring you up to speed!

We have recorded our first single and are in talks with organising signing to a new record label, since babycakes has proved notoriously difficult to keep in contact with.

Unfortunately, some of the members won’t be able to see the rewards from this, as the mormons Darren and Joe have decided to part ways with the rest of the band and go forth to their Mormon mission/ Tesco customer service desk callings in life.

However, this isn’t stopping YAWA – always move forward. We are on the lookout for a new bassist and a new guitarist, so if you are in the midlands (Near Telford) and play guitar/bass and are interested in being in a Rock Rap Rave band that will soon have it’s first single released, then send a message to our myspace or even just comment here!

I’ll update you again when we have more news!

Making money from being a musician is HARD.   It takes time, effort and ridiculous amounts of patience, but as MTV cribs will no doubt show you, the rewards can be well worth the effort.

I have worked my band “You and What Army” up from nothing into a successful money-making business.   But remember – as a band, you have to spend money to make money.   And initially, you will be spending a lot.   So you will probably need either a hefty savings account or a job behind you if you intend to make this work.

Okay, so you’ve got a myspace and you’ve got some fans on your friends list – time to make the most of them!

These are things that I have learned to do for my band You and What Army that have proven results!
